Les coves Meravelles de Benifallet
Benifallet's Wonderful caves (Coves Meravelles) are 6km from the town and 11km from Mollet Farmhouse.
They are comprised of six caves: the Cave of Wonders, the Cave of Two, the Siphon, Cave in Marigot, the advancement of Cataclysm and the Great Cave of Aumediella.
In short, a series of caves that allow you to discover the magic of the mountains that border the river.
Iberian Village from Benifallet
El jaciment del Castellot de la Roca Roja (The site of Red Rock) is one of the best preserved Iberian villages in Catalonia. Is located at 40m above sea level on the River Ebro and 5km from Benifallet.
The site is well preserved and allows us to accurately imagine how life could have been in this village which was inhabited for about 300 years between the third and sixth centuries B.C.
Currently the defensive constructions can be seen up to 5m tall and a simple urban layout with perpendicular streets where houses were situated.
El llagut de Benifallet
The village of Benifallet is located on the banks of the Ebro and is a good starting point for discovering the river. From it's river port get a tourist boat where visitors can travel around the calm waters of the Ebro. This experience offers a breathtaking view of the river meandering between the Cardó and Serra Cavallas mountains. One of the two trips which is offered is to the village of Miravet, with its spectacular views. The other option is to sail in the direction of the weir of Xerta with some of the most stunning sights imaginable.
Fishing on the River Ebre
The calm waters, rich in nutrients along the last stretch of the river Ebro are synonymous with a good day of fishing. That is why we have become a popular place among lovers of this sport.
The large amount of nutrients provided by the river and the brackish water facilitate the reproduction of freshwater fish such as eel, carp, barbel, huge catfish...
La Via Verda de la Val de Zafán (Greenway)
The Via Verda is a tourist route that runs along the old railway line from the Val de Zafan.
Mollet Farmhouse is located 100m from the start were you can go walking or cycling. The Via Verda is a route of about 50km towards the Terra Alta and the Baix Ebre.
La serra de Cardó
The Cardó mountains are 20km from Benifallet and form one of the most charismatic mountain ranges in the Terres de l'Ebre.
The deep Cardó Valley is drained by the canyon of Cardó, a tributary of the Ebre. Among the vegetation the pine stand out. There is some oak, bushy vegetation like rosemary, mastic, heather and Holly oak.
The ridge culminates in the Creu de Santos (the tallest mountain, 942m) and it's crossed by bridle paths that link Benifallet and Rasquera with Tivenys and Tortosa.
Away from any inhabited place, the environment invites reflection. Formerly the spa at Cardó was a hermitage for monks that used to isolate themselves and then later became a spa.
From here you can start several routes where you can discover the Cardó mountains.
Els Ports Natural Park
Was declared a Natural Park in 2001. Mollet Farmhouse is found 30km from here. You can enjoy walking, cycling, climbing, canyoning, swimming in natural rock pools, while enjoying the surrounding woodland....
Comarca Vinícol·a de la Terra Alta
The towns of the region of Terra Alta offers wine tastings in local cellars.
The modernist style of the cooperative cellar of el Pinell de Brai stands out in the area and itself produces high quality wines and oils from the Terra Alta region.
Also in Pinell de Brai you can visit the scene of the Battle of the Ebre and the interpretation Centre called "Les Veus del Front".
Miravet Castle
The Knight's Templar Castle of Miravet managed by the Museum of Catalonia, is a 12th century fortress built on a hill over the Ebro.
You can walk the ancient walls, visit different rooms such as the stables, the cistern, the kitchen, the refectory, the storage as well as an important Romanesque church.
El Delta de l'Ebre
If you choose to go on this splendid excursion to the Delta del Ebre, it is 50km from the Mollet Farmhouse.
The Delta del Ebre, an area of 320 km2, is the most extensive aquatic habitat in Catalonia and has a rich diversity of environments. Here you can find river, sea, bays, beaches, dunes, salt marshes, woods, coastal lagoons, river islands and rice fields.
There is also a great diversity of birds, fishes, reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates adapted to different habitats.
